Greetings and salutations, rockers! I don't see Week 3 causing much of a stir, because after yesterday's thrash epics, we've got some more rock and metal belters coming your way over the next four days, starting with The Headless Children.
The Headless Children is the fourth studio album by heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released in the early spring of 1989. It received a favourable reception from fans and critics, with AllMusic giving it 4.5 stars out of five, calling it W.A.S.P.'s "most accomplished work" and their "best constructed album". The Headless Children is also ranked as the band's best album on Best Ever Albums, with a high rating of 73/100.
Often considered the "other" masterpiece by W.A.S.P. (and considered by many to be superior to The Crimson Idol), The Headless Children marked the departure from the band's past as "filthy party animals" to a more mature, angrier beast. This is by far and away W.A.S.P.'s biggest selling album, and regarded by many fans, including the majority of voters in this group, as the band's best album of the 1980s.
W.A.S.P. always seem to make an appearance in our polls, no matter what the theme or decade. Golgotha, The Crimson Idol, and their self-titled album have all made appearances in our past polls, which shows you just how popular this band is in this group.
Do you think this is a worthy addition to our list? Let us know your thoughts...
